In 2023 our University was enrichened by multiple new phD’s that will provide further knowledge and scientific works to our academic community.

Filip Hren, assistant at University Department of History of the Catholic University of Croatia, successfully defended his doctoral thesis “Croatian soldiers in the Thirty Years’ War 1618-1648” on Wednesday, 4 January 2023.

 Karla Žagi, assistant at the University Department of Sociology of the Catholic University of Croatia successfully defended her doctoral thesis “The female face of contemporary migration: Acculturation strategies of women under international protection in the Republic of Croatia” on Thursday, 12 January 2023.

 

Damir Važanić, mag. med. tech., lecturer at the Nursing Department of the Catholic University of Croatia, successfully defended his doctoral thesis under title “Analysis of the Outpatient Emergency Medical Service System with regard to the outcome of the resuscitation procedure” on Wednesday, 26 April 2023 at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zagreb.

On Wednesday, 3 May 2023, at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Ljubljana, assistant at the Department of Psychology of the Croatian Catholic University Ana Šeremet, successfully defended her doctoral thesis titled “Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Attachment among Croatian War Veterans and their Wives” and obtained the title of Doctor of Science in the field of marital and family therapy.

Suzana Obrovac Lipar, Head of the Public Relations Office of the Catholic University of Croatia, successfully defended her doctoral dissertation titled “Public relations in the function of strengthening the image and brand of the university” under the mentorship of prof. Ph.D. Danijel Labaš from the Catholic University of Croatia and  prof. Ph.D. Ivana Pavlić from the University of Dubrovnik on 25 May 2023 at the Academy of Culture and Arts of the J. J. Strossmayer University in Osijek.

On Friday, 26 May 2023 at the Catholic University of Croatia, assistant at the Department of Sociology of Catholic University of Croatia Nika Đuho, defended her doctoral thesis “The Postmodern Paradigm of the City and the Transformative Potentials of Traditional Urban Institutions – the Example of Zagreb’s Markets” and obtained the title of Doctor of Science. The work was created under the mentorship of prof. Ph. D. Anka Mišetić from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb.

On Friday, 14 July 2023, Tomislav Belić, assistant at the University Department of Sociology of the Catholic University of Croatia, defended his doctoral thesis “Economic determinants of fertility rate variation in the European Union” at the Geography Department of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics in Zagreb under the mentorship of prof. Ph.D. Roko Mišetić, vice-rector for Academic Affairs from the Catholic University of Croatia and assistant professor Ph.D. Dubravka Spevec from the Geography Department of the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.
