Prof. Ph. D. Željko Tanjić and prof. Ph. D. Hrvoje Štefančić participated in the annual assembly of the European Federation of Catholic Universities, which took place at the Catholic University of Lille in France from May 4 to 6, 2023.

The General Assembly of the European Federation of Catholic Universities began with an address by the President of the European Federation of Catholic Universities, Prof. Ph.D. Michael Mullaney, rector of the Pontifical University of St. Patrick in Maynooth, Ireland, followed by an address from the rector of the Catholic University in Lille, prof. Ph.D. Patrick Scauflaire and Otmar Karas, members of the European Parliament and first vice-president of the European Parliament. The invited lecture “European Catholic Universities and the European Union – challenges and perspectives” was held by the Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union, the Irish Archbishop Msgr. Noel Treanor and the rector of the Croatian Catholic University, Prof. Ph. D. Željko Tanjić.

The participants of the General Assembly discussed topics such as the experience of students at European Catholic universities and the social responsibility of European Catholic universities in the context of the European Union. The hosts, the Catholic University of Lille, also prepared a presentation of their university as well as a presentation of the scholarship system with a panel in which students participated.
