[ZAŠTO DJECA KORISTE MOBITEL?]

Donosimo vam dio rezultata istraživanja kojeg smo provodili u osnovnim školama Grada Zagreba početkom ove godine (Studija 2, 1. val). Sudionici našeg longitudinalnog istraživanja su djeca u dobi od 10 do 14 godina, njih 283, i njihovi roditelji. Jedno od istraživačkih pitanja istraživanja je i motivacija djece za korištenjem mobitela u svakodnevnom životu.

Rezultati prikupljeni novom skalom za mjerenje motiva korištenja mobitela kod djece koju smo osmisli na temelju naših podataka iz prve studije pokazali su da je primarni motiv većine djece za korištenje mobitela održavanje kontakata s prijateljima i roditeljima, odnosno dopisivanje. Druga dva najučestalija motiva za korištenje mobitela kod djece su zabava i obavljanje školskih zadataka. Rezultati ukazuju na to da su hrvatska djeca slična djeci iz drugih zemalja s obzirom na motive za korištenje mobitela u svakodnevnom životu.

[WHY DO CHILDREN USE MOBILE PHONE?]

We bring you part of the results of the research we conducted earlier this year in primary schools in the City of Zagreb (Study 2, 1st wave). Participants in our longitudinal study were 283 children aged 10 to 14 and their parents. One of the research questions of the study is the motivation of children to use mobile phones in everyday life.

The results of the new scale measuring children’s motives for using mobile phones, which we developed based on our data from the first study, show that the primary motive for most children to use mobile phones is to stay in touch with their friends and parents. The other two most common motives for mobile phone use among children are having fun and doing schoolwork. The results suggest that Croatian children are similar to children from other countries in terms of motives for using mobile phones in everyday life.
