Faculty of Health Studies Hosts New Group of Erasmus+ Students from Poland

The Faculty of Health Studies at the Catholic University of Croatia is hosting a new group of Erasmus+ students from the Academy of Medical and Applied Social Sciences (Akademia Medycznych i Społecznih Nauk Stosowanych) in Elbląg, Poland. This marks the 17th student mobility from Elbląg to CUC's Faculty of Health Studies this year, further strengthening CUC's excellent international cooperation.
 

During their two-week stay in Zagreb, the students will acquire practical knowledge in partner healthcare institutions: three students will undergo practical training at the University Hospital Centre Zagreb (KBC Zagreb), and two female students will complete practical training in primary healthcare at the Zagreb Health Center.

Alongside their practical clinical training, the students joined in the daily life of the academic community: they attended Holy Mass in the university chapel, after which they met with Rector Professor Željko Tanjić and Professor Marta Čivljak. Professor Čivljak guided them on a tour of the CUC Campus, and they spent the rest of the day exploring the historical core of Zagreb, Upper Town, and the Zagreb Cathedral.

During the first days of their practical training, the students expressed great enthusiasm for the organization and warm reception from healthcare professionals.

"At KBC Zagreb, we were welcomed extremely warmly. We were immediately involved in the work at the Emergency Department under the mentorship of an outstanding team, with whom we soon tackled even the most demanding cases, such as polytraumas. All doctors and nurses are exceptionally kind and approachable, giving us a fantastic opportunity to acquire skills."
 

The students completing their practice in primary healthcare shared equally positive impressions:

"We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to learn about the operation and structure of the healthcare system in Croatia. Meeting and working with our mentor has been an invaluable experience, and we are thankful for the chance to compare systems and learn something new beyond our home borders."
