International scientific conference THE BEGINNINGS OF THE KINGDOM. THE SPLIT CHURCH COUNCILS, TOMISLAV AND HIS ERA ON THE 1100TH ANNIVERSARY

An international scientific conference entitled The Beginnings of the Kingdom: Split Church Councils, Tomislav and His Era on the 1100th anniversary will be held in Split from 8 to 10 May 2025 with over 50 active participants. In terms of marking the 1100th anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom, this will be the central scientific event where contemporary historiographical knowledge related to the period of the reign of King Tomislav will be discussed, especially in terms of the central political event of Tomislav's reign - the Split Church Councils held in 925 and 928.

The conference is held under the auspices of the Croatian Bishops' Conference, the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences and the Government of the Republic of Croatia.

The main organizers of the conference are the Catholic University of Croatia and the Department of History of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Split.
