Students from the Integral Ecology course visit the Faculty of Agriculture

As part of the elective course Integral Ecology, students of the Catholic University of Croatia visited the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Zagreb, where they participated in an interdisciplinary program dedicated to the topics of soil, food, and integral ecology.

Prof. Ivica Kisić, PhD, delivered a lecture on the importance of soil for life and food production, addressing the challenges soil faces today, such as climate change, pollution, and environmental degradation. He emphasized that soil preservation is one of the key issues for a sustainable future.

Following this, Assistant Professor Đurica Pardon, PhD, gave a lecture titled Paths Towards Awareness, in which he discussed, from the perspective of integral ecology, the importance of developing awareness of the interconnectedness between humanity, nature, and spirituality. In the final part of the program, Associate Professor Aleksandra Perčin, PhD, guided students through the soil analysis laboratory, where they were introduced to the soil testing process, the significance of pH values, and the basic chemical elements important for soil quality and fertility.

The visit enabled students to connect scientific, ecological, and theological perspectives and further deepened their understanding of the importance of a responsible relationship toward the environment and our common home.
