Prof. Martin Previšić, PhD, and defended before a committee consisting of Assoc. Prof. Tado Jurić, PhD, Prof. Ante Kolak, PhD, and Assoc. Prof. Wollfy Krašić, PhD.
The doctoral dissertation examines the history of the secondary school teaching profession in Zagreb during the 1970s and 1980s, placing it within the broader context of socio-political changes and educational reforms of the period. Particular emphasis is given to the so-called Šuvar reform, which brought about a fundamental transformation of secondary education within the framework of the socialist self-management system.

Through a structured analysis across several thematic units, the dissertation reconstructs the development of the teaching profession, its social status, and the changes influenced by the political and ideological context of the late 20th century.
Special attention is devoted to кадров policies and education policy, including reforms in teacher training and higher education, as well as efforts to shape a new professional profile of teachers aligned with the demands of the system of that time.
The public defense was attended by a large number of interested participants, and the discussion that followed confirmed the relevance and timeliness of the research topic. The candidate demonstrated a high level of expertise, thorough preparation, and confidence in her presentation, successfully responding to all questions. The dissertation was awarded the highest distinction, summa cum laude.
