Communication Sciences Professors Delivered Lectures to Over 700 Primary School and Croatian Language Teachers

More than 700 primary school teachers and Croatian language teachers from six Croatian counties participated in professional training programmes organised by the Agency for Education and Teacher Training, where invited lectures were given by Prof. Igor Kanižaj, Ph.D., and Assoc. Prof. Lana Ciboci Perša, Ph.D., from the Department of Communication Sciences at the Catholic University of Croatia.

The inter-county professional training sessions were held in Vinkovci, Rovišće, and online in Rijeka. Over the past week, teachers had the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills related to the characteristics of Generation Alpha in the classroom, the digital world in the context of Croatian language teaching, the importance of critically evaluating headlines, and the impact of disinformation in today’s media environment.

Professors Kanižaj and Ciboci Perša also introduced a number of practical workshops specifically designed for work with primary and secondary school students, aiming to raise the level of media literacy among children and youth.
