Duke Šušnjara guest lectures in the course ‘The Alka of Sinj’

Alka Duke Mario Šušnjara gave a guest lecture on May 19, 2026, in the course ‘The Alka of Sinj’, which is taught at the Catholic University of Croatia (HKS). For several years now, HKS has offered a course dedicated to the Sinjska Alka, and in the 2025/26 academic year it is being taught in English under the title ‘The Alka of Sinj’. The course is attended by students from Croatia, France, and Slovakia. The course coordinator is Assistant Professor Jakov Žižić, PhD.

Šušnjara spoke to students about his experience as an Alkar and Alka Duke, as well as the significance of the Alka for its participants. During the discussion with students, particular attention was given to the commercialization of the Alka and its international promotion, with special emphasis on the Alka’s appearance in France.
