CUC Psychologists Presented Research on Mental Health and Parenting at the 25th Psychology Days in Zadar
Teachers of the University Department of Psychology of the Catholic University of Croatia participated in the “jubilee” 25th Psychology Days in Zadar, an international scientific and professional conference held from 21 to 23 May 2026 in Zadar.

Assoc. Prof. Sandra Nakić Radoš, PhD, delivered an invited lecture in English titled Peripartum mental health: from understanding risks to innovative solutions, in which she presented the most common mental disorders during pregnancy and after childbirth, their risk factors, as well as consequences for the mother, child and family, and introduced the audience to contemporary screening methods, prevention and interventions for various disorders in the peripartum period.

In addition, Nakić Radoš organised the international 8th Symposium on Reproductive Mental Health with participants from Croatia, the Czech Republic and Spain. Within the symposium, a paper was presented by teaching assistant Nikolina Vukšić as first author in co-authorship, and the topic of the presentation was Usability and acceptance of the HappyMums mobile application for peripartum mental health assessment in a Croatian sample.

This research was prepared in co-authorship with Assoc. Prof. Sandra Nakić Radoš, PhD, Dr Maja Žutić, Assist. Prof. Maja Brekalo, PhD, Dr Marijana Matijaš, as well as the consortium of the Horizon project HappyMums. Furthermore, Assist. Prof. Brekalo presented a poster presentation in co-authorship with graduate Talija Babić titled From social rejection to the formation of parasocial relationships: the role of rejection sensitivity.

In addition to the lecture and organisation of the symposium, Nakić Radoš also presented a poster titled Between professional recommendations and intuition: parental strategies of decision-making in the context of intensive parenting, in co-authorship under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Ivana Moranduzzo from the University of Zadar. Nakić Radoš is a collaborator on the project also presented at the conference, titled Intensive parenting: Parental well-being and developmental outcomes in children (INTERD), led by Prof. Moranduzzo and funded by the European Union (NextGenerationEU).
