Tihana Bagić

Senior Lecturer at the University Department of History of the Catholic University of Croatia in Zagreb. She completed her graduate studies in English and German Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Osijek. She completed a postgraduate course in British Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. She received her PhD in 2014 in glottodidactics from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zagreb with a dissertation entitled “Intercultural Competence of Secondary School English Language Learners in Relation to Language Competence and Language Contact”.

During her studies, she was a scholarship holder of the Akademie am Hasner Platz and the Austrian Student Exchange Agency (Österreichischer Austauschdienst - ÖAD) at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz, Austria. Before joining the Catholic University of Croatia, where she has been employed as a lecturer since 2021, she worked at VERN University, St John’s College, Southsea in the UK, and the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes. She participated in several national and international conferences and published several professional and scientific papers.

 

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Interculturalism in foreign language education, development of linguistic and intercultural competence, mobility of students and teachers, connection between emotions and foreign language acquisition, foreign language anxiety.
