Mario Kevo

Associate Professor at the University Department of History of the Catholic University of Croatia (Zagreb). He graduated, obtained his Master's and PhD at the University of Zagreb.

Before coming to the Catholic University of Croatia at Zagreb, where he currently holds the position of the Head of the University Department of History (since 2018), he was an employee of the Public Institution Jasenovac Memorial Area and the Croatian Institute of History in Zagreb. He is the recipient of the State Award for Science of the Republic of Croatia (2006) as the best junior researcher in Humanities.

He teaches courses related to the Croatian and World Contemporary History of the first half of the 20th Century. His research activities include issues from the World War II and the immediate post-war period. He has authored numerous papers.
 

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

World War II and the immediate aftermath, with special emphasis on the repressive system of the Independent State of Croatia, as well as on humanitarian issues and the activities of domestic and international humanitarian organizations (International Committee of the Red Cross, International Red Cross, Croatian Red Cross, etc.)
