Marina Zagorec

She is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Law of the Croatian Catholic University. She graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb in 2003, defending her thesis in criminal law entitled "Aggravated Murder". She passed the bar exam in 2006 and has since been employed at the Administrative Court of the Republic of Croatia, now the High Administrative Court of the Republic of Croatia, as a senior court advisor. In 2018, she joined the City of Zagreb, City Office for Property and Legal Affairs and City Property, as Assistant Head in the Administrative and Legal Affairs Sector. In 2019, she was appointed Deputy Head of the same Office, and in 2020, Head of the City Office for Property and Legal Affairs.

In 2019, she completed postgraduate doctoral studies in criminal law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb, defending her doctoral dissertation entitled "Juvenile Detention in the Croatian Criminal Justice System". During her career, she has published many professional papers in administrative law, while her scientific papers have made a scientific contribution to the field of criminal juvenile law. She has been an active member of the Association of Juvenile Judges, Family Judges and Experts in Working with Children and Youth since its establishment and is present in the work and activities of the association through seminars, workshops and lectures, with the aim of raising awareness and educating children's rights.
