Fulbright, the American Embassy's international educational exchange program, presented at CUC

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in the "Bl. Alojzije kard. Stepinac" hall, the Fulbright Program, a leading international educational exchange program sponsored by the US government, which has more than 400,000 alumni from more than 160 countries, of which 400 are Croatian alumni, was presented at our University. The Fulbright Program, present in Croatia since 1992, is implemented by the US Embassy in Zagreb in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia and the Agency for Mobility and EU Programs.

Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Prof. Jasna Ćurković Nimac thanked the US Embassy for the opportunity and willingness to present this program at the Catholic University of Croatia.

Nina Vranešević Marinić, representative of the US Embassy and coordinator for exchange programs and alumni, presented the program's features to the gathered teachers and doctoral students of CUC, what it does, what is required for application and participation, and in which categories Croatian scientists and doctoral students can apply to the program.

The Fulbright Program was established in 1946 by former Senator J. William Fulbright of Arkansas with the aim of increasing mutual understanding between citizens of the United States and citizens of other countries. It awards more than 8,000 scholarships annually, and Croatians can participate through two categories – as doctoral students or as teachers, researchers, or scientists with a doctorate. The program provides access to research at American universities for one or two semesters (minimum four and maximum nine months).
