From Friday to Saturday, 21–22 November 2025, the first international scientific conference Quo Vadis, EU? Between Norms and Power was held, jointly organised by Sapienza University of Rome, the University of Siena, and the University of Tirana. The conference brought together numerous international scholars and experts who discussed, from an interdisciplinary perspective, current topics related to the normative framework and future development of the European Union.
Sociologists from the Department of Sociology of the Catholic University of Croatia also took part in the conference, contributing with their scientific presentations.

Assist. Prof. Jeronim Dorotić, Ph.D., presented a paper titled Approaching the ‘Wellbeing Dimension’ of the EU’s Digital Education Policies, in which he analysed the challenges and opportunities accompanying the development of the European Union’s digital education policies.

Assoc. Prof. Ivana Brstilo Lovrić, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Sociology, together with Marta Čagalj, doctoral student in the PhD programme Sociology: Values, Identity and Social Change in Croatian Society, delivered a presentation entitled Practice Meets Policy: Insights on Sustainable Fashion in Croatia. Their presentation offered a critical analysis of the contemporary fashion industry at the global, national, and European levels from the perspective of young consumers, fashion designers, and EU public policies, with a particular focus on sustainability and cultural change.

The conference also included participation from department lecturer Assist. Prof. Miriam Mary Brgles, Ph.D., who served as a member of the scientific committee.
