Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands Delivers Guest Lecture to CUC Students

Ivar Scheers, Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands to Croatia, delivered a guest lecture to students of the Catholic University of Croatia on Wednesday, 6 May 2026. The lecture was held within the course Elections and Electoral Campaigns, taught by Assist. Prof. Jakov Žižić, PhD, at the University Department of Communication Studies.

In his presentation, Scheers introduced students to the electoral system and political processes in the Netherlands. He emphasised that the key characteristics of Dutch democracy are its multi-layered structure and proportional representation system, which is based on inclusiveness and consensus-building.
