Vice-Rectors Antolović and Ćurković Nimac Attend Meeting of Croatian Universities with the Brazilian University Cooperation Group (GCUB)

A working meeting with representatives of the Brazilian University Cooperation Group (GCUB) was held on Friday, 13 June 2025, at the University of Zagreb. Representing Brazilian universities were Cristiane Salomé Ribeiro Costa, Director of International Relations at UFPE (Federal University of Pernambuco); Camila Girardi Fachin, Vice-Rector of UFPR (Federal University of Paraná); Heloísa Garcia Claro Fernandes, International Relations Advisor at UNICAMP (University of Campinas); Fernando Antonio Santos Coelho, Vice-Rector at UNICAMP; José Luis da Costa, International Relations Advisor at UNICAMP; and Rossana Valéria de Souza e Silva, Executive Director of GCUB.
 


The Catholic University of Croatia was represented by Prof. Dr. Robert Antolović, Vice-Rector for Science, and Prof. Dr. Jasna Ćurković Nimac, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation. From the University of Zagreb, participants included Prof. Dr. Tomislav Mlinarić, Vice-Rector for Innovation, Technology Transfer and University-Business Cooperation; Prof. Jasenka Ostojić, Vice-Rector for the Arts, Culture and Interuniversity Cooperation; Prof. Dr. Lidija Kos-Stanišić from the Faculty of Political Science; and Dr. Branka Roščić, Head of the Central Office for International Cooperation.

Representatives of the Croatian Rectors’ Conference also took part: Prof. Dr. Vedran Mornar, Rector of VERN University; Prof. Dr. Sanja Bijakšić, Vice-Rector of the University of Mostar; and Lidija Šimrak and Bernays from the University of Algebra’s International Office.

In addition to general discussions on collaboration, a key point of the meeting was the presentation of GCUB's mobility programme and scholarship opportunities for Croatian students in Brazil.
 


The Grupo de Cooperação de Universidades Brasileiras (GCUB) is an association of more than 80 Brazilian universities that promotes international cooperation in education and research. It includes top institutions such as the University of São Paulo, State University of Campinas, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, State University of São Paulo, the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, and many others across Brazil.
