Dr Ana Žulec Ivanković Presents at the 32nd Annual Conference of Croatian Psychologists

Dr Ana Žulec Ivanković, senior research assistant at the University Department of Psychology, Catholic University of Croatia (CUC), took part in the 32nd Annual Conference of Croatian Psychologists, held in Split from 5 to 8 November 2025.

She presented a paper entitled “Instagram vs. Reality: Is High-School Students’ Satisfaction with Their Appearance Shaped by Their Instagram Stories?”, in which she showcased the key findings of her doctoral research. The results indicate that comparison with people adolescents follow on social media may negatively affect their satisfaction with their own appearance, with this effect being particularly pronounced among girls.

These findings highlight the importance of discussing online content with young people and encouraging critical reflection on the media they consume.
