Participation of CUC Representatives at the Conference Care and Support – Applications of Robots and Artificial Intelligence in Elderly Care in Budapest
On Tuesday, 27 May 2025, representatives of the Catholic University of Croatia took part in the international conference Care and Support – Applications of Robots and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Elderly Care held in Budapest, where they presented their work on the application of artificial intelligence in elderly care.
Prof. dr. sc. Jasna Ćurković Nimac, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation; assoc. prof. dr. sc. Ivana Brstilo Lovrić, Head of the University Department of Sociology; and Paula Zujić, teaching assistant at the same department, delivered a presentation titled Ageing in the Age of AI: How Will We Remember Elders, and How Will We Care for Them?
Another presentation, titled From Fear to Trust: Why Digital Literacy Matters in Elderly Care, was delivered by assoc. prof. dr. sc. Anto Čartolovni and dr. sc. Anamaria Malešević, senior teaching assistant—both members of the Laboratory for Ethics of Digital Technologies in Health Care.
During her stay in Budapest, prof. dr. sc. Jasna Ćurković Nimac met with representatives of Péter Pázmány Catholic University (PPCU): assoc. prof. dr. habil. Krisztián Vincze, Vice-Rector for External Affairs and Research Organisation; prof. dr. Nándor Birher, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Senior Advisor to the Rector; dr. Bence Tamássy, Head of the Central Office for External Affairs and Director of the Institute for Archaeological Sciences; and dr. Balázs Major, Vice-Dean for International Affairs.
She also met with prof. dr. Clemens Sedmak, Director of the Nanovic Institute for European Studies at the Keough School of Global Affairs, University of Notre Dame.
This visit marks an important step forward in strengthening the collaboration between the two universities.
