Head of Department Brstilo Lovrić Joins Higher Education Expert Team in Lithuania

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivana Brstilo Lovrić, Head of the Department of Sociology, visited the Republic of Lithuania in mid-October 2025 as a member of an international team of around twenty experts from various European Union countries. She participated in a pilot project evaluating the quality of Lithuanian higher education, organized by the Lithuanian Research Council under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.

A representative of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania also took part in the working session, introducing the experts to the national educational context and system.

The aim of the project was to assess the quality of higher education institutions in terms of scientific research, international scientific contribution, and the impact of research on the community at the local, national, and international levels.

As part of the evaluation, she and the team of experts visited Vilniaus kolegija Higher Education Institution in Vilnius and Kolping Higher Education Institution in Kaunas. During the visits, they met with university management, faculty, administrative staff, and students, gaining insight into research methods, projects, and community cooperation, as well as the institutions’ equipment and resources. The evaluation process is currently ongoing.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Brstilo Lovrić’s participation in this international project contributes to the recognition and visibility of the Department of Sociology and the Catholic University of Croatia, as well as to strengthening international cooperation in the implementation of research policy and the evaluation of research in higher education.
