Leali Osmančević, PhD, Participated in the International Conference Communication and Media Days Split

As part of the annual international conference Communication and Media Days Split, organized from 5 to 7 June 2025 by the independent study program Communication and Media at the University of Split, Dr. Leali Osmančević from the Department of Communication Science at the Catholic University of Croatia took part in the event. During the thematic panel "Knowledge and New Technologies – Challenges in Education," she and her co-author Antea Boko presented a paper titled "On the Edge of Trust: The Role of Media Literacy in Empowering Digital Media Audiences."
 


The central theme of the conference was disinformation and trust in the media, and along with numerous participants, international experts in the field of media and communication also presented their work. Among them were Prof. Alex Grech, Ph.D., founder and director of the 3CL Foundation and professor at the University of Malta, Maia Klassen from the Baltic Centre for Digital Media and Disinformation (BECID – Baltic EDMO Hub), Antonina Cherevenko from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and Nina Shengelia, disinformation expert from the 3CL Foundation, among many other speakers.

The conference once again gathered numerous professors, students, and media professionals from Croatian and European universities and countries, and over the course of three days, it featured several thematic panels, student workshops, and lectures.
