Exchange of Staff Experiences within the Erasmus+ Mobility Programme

On Monday, 13 April 2026, a meeting titled “Exchange of Staff Experiences within the Erasmus+ Mobility Programme” was held at the Catholic University of Croatia. The meeting was intended for staff members who had participated in mobility programmes in recent months, as well as for those preparing to take part by the end of the semester, with the aim of sharing experiences, improving awareness, and encouraging further participation in mobility activities.

Opening remarks were delivered by the Rector, Prof. Željko Tanjić, PhD, and the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Jasna Ćurković Nimac, PhD. Vice-Rector Ćurković Nimac thanked participants for promoting the University through their mobility experiences and emphasized that mobility is an important strategic element of its development. It was highlighted that individual mobility contributes not only to professional and personal development but also to strengthening the institution’s international positioning.

During the meeting, participants discussed opportunities for both academic and non-academic staff to engage in mobility programmes, funding options, and the importance of timely and high-quality planning. The introduction of an institutional form for the dissemination of experiences was also announced, which staff will complete upon return, with the aim of ensuring systematic knowledge transfer, sharing of experiences, and building of professional networks.

In the next Erasmus+ programme period (2028–2034), student and staff mobility will remain central, with a stronger emphasis on participation in European networks and joint study programmes. The programme is expected to become more accessible through simplified administrative procedures and enhanced cooperation among universities. The anticipated return of the United Kingdom to the programme was also mentioned, further underscoring its international significance. It was emphasized that the University must prepare in a timely manner for an even stronger focus on internationalization in higher education, as participation in higher education today means being an active part of the international academic community.

In the final part of the meeting, staff members shared their personal experiences and insights gained through Erasmus+ mobility, contributing to the further strengthening of a culture of international cooperation at the University.
