Professor Paul A. Rahe from Michigan Delivers Guest Lecture to Students

Organised by the Embassy of the United States in Croatia, Prof. Paul A. Rahe from Hillsdale College visited the Catholic University of Croatia on Tuesday, 12 May 2026. He delivered a lecture to students within the course “The Alka of Sinj”, taught by Assist. Prof. Jakov Žižić, PhD, titled “The Idea of a Landowners' Republic: Land Ownership as a Political Foundation of the United States.”
 

Prof. Rahe is a historian and an expert on the American Revolution, republicanism, and the constitutional and political foundations of American independence, as well as the development of political institutions. This year marks the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, a cornerstone of American statehood.

It also coincides with the 120th anniversary of the veneration of Our Lady of Sinj in Chicago.
