Head of Department Brstilo Lovrić on an Erasmus+ visit to Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw

As part of the Erasmus+ mobility program for teaching purposes, the Head of the University Department of Sociology, Associate Professor Ivana Brstilo Lovrić, PhD, paid an official visit to Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (UKSW) from May 3 to 9.

During the visit, a meeting was held with the UKSW administration regarding the institutional agreement and the further strengthening of scientific cooperation. The meeting was led by Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation Fr. Ryszard F. Sadowski, PhD habil.; Director of the Institute of Sociological Sciences Fr. Artur Wysocki, PhD habil.; and Dr. Martyna Kawińska, Erasmus Coordinator of the Institute of Sociological Sciences.

As part of the mobility program, Associate Professor Brstilo Lovrić delivered a lecture titled Trendy and Throwaway? Sociological Insights into Youth Fashion in Croatia, intended for university and incoming Erasmus students, followed by an interactive discussion on the practices and policies of (un)sustainability among young people in Poland and Croatia.

She also participated in classes for the course Big Data in Social Analytics, coordinated by university associate Adam Bartosiewicz, where she exchanged research practices with students and analyzed current social issues, with a particular focus on the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market, the position of young people, and broader social changes. A working meeting was also held with Professor Katarzyna Uklańska, PhD, from the Institute of Sociological Sciences regarding strategic cooperation and the development of joint scientific and research initiatives. In addition, a meeting with university chaplain Fr. Andrzej Waś was organized, including a visit to the university chapel as an important part of the spiritual life of the University.

Special thanks were extended to Vice-Rector Ryszard F. Sadowski for his hospitality and openness to further forms of scientific cooperation between the Catholic University of Croatia and Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University. The meetings and academic activities further confirmed the mutual interest in developing joint research projects, teaching exchanges, and stronger international cooperation between the two institutions.
