Faculty of Health Studies Marks International Nurses Day

On the occasion of International Nurses Day, celebrated annually on 12 May—the birthday of Florence Nightingale—the Faculty of Health Studies at the Catholic University of Croatia took part in a series of activities dedicated to promoting the nursing profession and highlighting its importance within the healthcare system.

As part of the programme, teaching assistant Marin Čargo, together with students, visited Clinical Hospital Sveti Duh, where joint activities further strengthened the connection between the academic community and clinical practice. On the same day, members of the Nutrix Student Club, in cooperation with the Croatian Nurses Association, participated in a public health event at Ban Jelačić Square, presenting the importance of nursing and healthcare to the public.

The Faculty also took part in the 4th Congress of the Croatian Chamber of Nurses, contributing to the session on Education and Social Care, moderated by Marin Čargo.

Acting Dean Assist. Prof. Ivica Matić, PhD, delivered a lecture titled “Written Assessments as a Tool for Evaluating Achievement.”

At the congress, two graduates of the Faculty’s nursing programme also presented their master’s theses: Lana Šijaković with the research “Nursing Students’ Perceptions of Professional Appearance in Nursing: A Cross-Sectional Study,” and Monika Jujnović with “Internet Addiction and Physical Activity among High School Students.”

We extend our sincere congratulations and gratitude to all nurses and medical technicians for their dedication, expertise, and daily care for others.
