Book Presentation: The Battle of Krk in 49 BC by Professor Siniša Bilić-Dujmušić

On Friday, 27 September 2024, during the 7th Congress of Croatian Historians, the book The Battle of Krk in 49 BC by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siniša Bilić-Dujmušić was officially presented.

The book offers a detailed scholarly analysis of the social and military-political context of the late Roman Republic, addressing numerous logistical, engineering, and operational challenges within the real geographical setting of Krk Island and its surroundings. For the first time, the author provides a complete reconstruction of the Battle of Krk in 49 BC, which took place between Caesar's and Pompey's forces during the Roman civil war. The study presents well-argued proposals and conclusions regarding the specific details of this historical event.
