Assistant Professor Trbušić at the International Conference “Challenges in Eastern Europe” Held in Rome
At the invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to the Holy See, Assistant Professor Davor Trbušić from the Department of Communication Studies at the Catholic University of Croatia stayed in Rome from 14 to 16 January 2026. The main purpose of the visit was his participation in a lecture entitled “The Archives of Pius XII and the Independent State of Croatia (1941–1945)”, delivered as part of the international conference “Challenges in Eastern Europe,” organized by the French School at Rome (École française de Rome).
During his stay, meetings were held at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to discuss opportunities for further cooperation and the engagement of Croatian experts in research on the Vatican Archives. In addition to planning future research, discussions also addressed the communication aspects of this topic—namely, ways in which archival materials and the work of historians can be more effectively presented to the public.
