Welcome to the Faculty of Engineering at the Catholic University of Croatia!

It is with great pleasure that I present to you our university undergraduate programme Computer Science for Social Applications — a programme designed in response to the needs of today’s digital society. In an age where technology shapes nearly every aspect of our lives, the goal of our programme is to prepare you to become professionals who not only understand how technology works, but also why its application in a social context is so important.

Throughout your studies, you will acquire solid knowledge in computer science — including programming, databases, computer networks, artificial intelligence, and data analysis — while also developing critical thinking skills, creativity, and the ability to work across disciplines. We believe that it is precisely the blend of technical excellence and social awareness that distinguishes a good expert from one who truly contributes to the well-being of the community.

The Faculty of Engineering is actively involved in scientific research, especially in areas of high social and technological relevance. We take pride in our contribution to the development of practical, AI-based solutions applicable in medicine, industry, and everyday life. Special attention is also given to topics such as cybersecurity, digital ethics, smart infrastructure systems, and the digital transformation of society. Our students participate in projects in collaboration with both domestic and international partners, gaining knowledge and skills in real research environments.

The practical component of our programme is deeply integrated into the teaching process. Through projects, workshops, and internships in cooperation with industry, students gain hands-on experience that prepares them for careers in the tech sector and opens doors to professional networking and growth. Small enrolment quotas allow for an individualised approach to each student, providing mentoring and support throughout the entire educational journey.

Our campus in Zagreb is equipped with modern infrastructure — state-of-the-art classrooms, computer and AI laboratories, and access to relevant scientific databases — ensuring excellent conditions for both academic and research development.

The Computer Science for Social Applications programme is designed to meet real labour market needs, preparing you for careers in software development, data analytics, IT, digital transformation, and many other areas. It also lays a strong foundation for further studies at the graduate and postgraduate levels.
