Head of Department Brstilo Lovrić Participates in the Book Presentation of "Godina i vječnost"

On Saturday, August 15, the book "Godina i vječnost" ("A Year and Eternity") by Professor Vladimir Lončarević, PhD, was presented at the Parish Church of St. Roch in Medov Dolac.

Speakers discussing the book included Associate Professor Ivana Brstilo Lovrić, PhD, Head of the University Department of Sociology at the Catholic University of Croatia; Mihovil Bogoslav Matković, Professor and Project Manager at Academia Cravatica; Father Ante Rako, lecturer at the Catholic Faculty of Theology of the University of Split; and Professor Vladimir Lončarević, PhD, author of the book and external associate of the Catholic University of Croatia. Selected excerpts from the book were read by Šimun Čagalj, Professor, and Marta Čagalj, a sociology doctoral student at the Catholic University of Croatia, while the event was moderated by Branko Lubina, retired Colonel of the Croatian Army. Father Mario Čagalj, parish priest of the Parish of St. Roch in Medov Dolac and host of the event, welcomed and addressed the attendees.

The presenters emphasized that the work is a historical novel inspired by the life of the first Croatian President, Dr. Franjo Tuđman, published on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his death and the 1100th anniversary of the Kingdom of Croatia. Through a literary framework, the novel offers an insight into the life, era, and historical circumstances surrounding the first Croatian president, creating space for reflection on Croatian history, national identity, and the experience of establishing the Croatian state, as well as its developmental perspectives within contemporary geopolitical contexts.
