Assoc. Prof. Anto Mikić, PhD, from the University Department of Communication Sciences at the Catholic University of Croatia, will participate in the panel discussion “Is the Church Afraid of the Media?”, which will take place on Thursday, 24 September at 7 p.m. in the monastery hall of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Zagreb. This will be the first panel discussion organised by the Bitno.net portal, where Assoc. Prof. Mikić serves as Editor-in-Chief.

The panel discussion will focus on the relationship between the Church and the media. Among the issues to be addressed are the Church’s reservations towards the media, the accessibility of Church representatives to journalists, and whether the Church’s communication can be characterised as slow or rather as prudent. Assoc. Prof. Mikić has more than 30 years of experience working in both Church and secular media, while the relationship between the Church and the media is also one of his areas of scientific research.
