Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tado Jurić from the Department of History at the Catholic University of Croatia delivered a lecture titled “Demographic Exhaustion of Croats: Silent Disappearance or ‘A New Us’” in Tolisa, Orašje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Saturday, 11 October 2025, at the invitation of Matica hrvatska Orašje.
The lecture was part of the two-day cultural event The Fourth Evenings of Matica hrvatska Orašje, the first evening of which featured a ceremonial academy marking the 1100th anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom.

The second evening focused on topics of demography and the survival of the Croatian nation. In his presentation of the book Modern Migrations and the Survival of the Nation, its author, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tado Jurić, discussed the study of emigration, demographic trends, and the challenges small nations face in a globalized world. He emphasized that in the past 30 years, nearly eight million people have emigrated from Southeast Europe, with Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina being particularly affected within the wider region.
