Dean Bocksang Hola visited the Catholic University of Croatia

On 14 January 2026, Assoc. Prof. Gabriel Bocksang Hola, Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, visited the Catholic University of Croatia. Pontifical Catholic University of Chile is one on the world's most eminent universities, holding 1st place in Chile, 3rd place in the entire Latin America and 34th place in the world. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Željko Tanjić, Rector of the Catholic University of Croatia; Prof. Jasna Ćurković Nimac, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation; Assoc. Prof. Kristian Turkalj, Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Croatia; as well as Prof. Luka Šešo, Prof. Vanja-Ivan Savić, Teaching Assistant Karla Ressler and Iva Mikulandra Barkiđija, Head of Office of the Dean of Law Faculty.
 

During the meeting, participants discussed possibilities for cooperation between the two universities, with a particular focus on strengthening international academic collaboration in the field of law. Rector Tanjić presented the activities of the Catholic University of Croatia and emphasized that the University will host the FUCE General Assembly meeting in May 2026. Vice-Rector Ćurković Nimac gave a more detailed presentation of the University and its strategic orientation toward internationalization.
 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. sc. Kristian Turkalj, Dean of the Faculty of Law, presented the work and development of the Faculty, emphasizing its participation in the St. Catherine Circle, an international platform for cooperation among Catholic law faculties organized by the University of Notre Dame.
 

Dean Bocksang Hola expressed a strong interest in establishing cooperation with the Catholic University of Croatia and highlighted the importance of collaboration among Catholic universities, especially in the field of law, to bring together scholars and teachers who wish to teach law in accordance with the values of the Gospel.
 

Participants also discussed concrete options for future cooperation, such as organizing Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs) for teaching and administrative staff, signing a bilateral agreement, cooperation on scientific research projects, and joint publication of academic works. One of the platforms for cooperation mentioned was the International Association of Law Schools, of which Dean Bocksang Hola is the President. 

As part of the visit program, a tour of the Catholic University of Croatia campus was organized, along with a brief sightseeing tour of the city of Zagreb.
