Dear prospective students,
The undergraduate and graduate course in nursing at the Catholic University of Croatia is set up in compliance with Directive 2005/36/EC, Directive 2013/55/EU, the Nursing Act (Official Gazette 121/03, 117/08 and 57/11), the Act on Regulated Professions and the Recognition of Foreign Professional Qualifications (Official Gazette 124/09, 45/11 and 74/14), and meets the provisions of the Ordinance on the Criteria for the Recognition of Foreign Professional Qualifications (Official Gazette 89/13) and the Ordinance on Specialist Training for Nurses – Medical Technicians (Official Gazette, 139/09 and 32/12), as well as the ordinances and regulations of the Croatian Nursing Council of the Republic of Croatia.
This program allows nurses/medical technicians who are undergoing their training in the Republic of Croatia to be on equal terms with nurses and medical technicians undergoing their training in the European Union
The core competencies of nurses and medical technicians are related to the protection, maintenance and promotion of the health of individuals. The goal of the undergraduate and graduate university course in nursing at the Catholic University of Croatia is to develop professionals who will provide quality health care services, using effective and efficient leadership and implementing evidence-based practice, and persist in developing humanistic aspects of medicine and patient-oriented care. As students of this course, you will learn how to work in a team, lead a team, organize comprehensive health care, and provide health-related educational training to individuals, groups and communities. During your studies, you will acquire relevant scientific knowledge, which forms the basis of general health care, knowledge of the ethics in nursing and the general principles of health. You will also gain relevant clinical experience, the ability to participate in the practical training of health personnel, experience in working with members of other professions in the health sector and the ability to manage and plan within the health sector.
This program allows nurses/medical technicians who are undergoing their training in the Republic of Croatia to be on equal terms with nurses and medical technicians undergoing their training in the European Union, since the program enables students to acquire competences referred to in the Directives, as well as develop empathic and professional approach to all patients or users.
