I would recommend the CUC to everyone interested in social sciences – all study programmes, especially Sociology. Although initially Sociology was not my first choice, I simply fell in love with it after the first semester. The study programme in Sociology offers a broad selection of courses such as anthropology and history, which are connected with sociologists since they give them a broader picture of society. Relations between students and professors are very good, professors are at our disposal for any question and assistance.

What makes this course of study special is its focus on scientific development and interdisciplinary approach. It gives prospective sociologists much room for their further activities, above all for positioning themselves on the labour market. Emphasis is on scientific development, interdisciplinarity and acquisition of general knowledge. Professors are always there for us, ready to help and motivate us, which leaves a mark on the students and their engagement throughout the studies.

The course of study in Sociology enables students to acquire theoretical knowledge, conceptual tools and methodology necessary for an objective and scientifically founded understanding and study of social reality. We gain important insights about ourselves and our role in society by observing and analysing its structures, meanings, values, protagonists, roles and interactions on the micro, mezzo and macro social levels. Therefore, we prepare our students for a practical application of acquired values and knowledge. We develop their preparedness to face challenges and opportunities of the complex social reality and to assume active and leading roles in social institutions and groups, which will contribute to sustainable development and the stability of the society in which we live.
