Zoran Turza
Zoran Turza, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Catholic University of Croatia in Zagreb. He serves as Head of the University Center Laudato si' – for Christian Responsibility and Care for Creation, Coordinator of the University Chair of Theology, University Erasmus Coordinator, and member of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Law. He obtained his doctorate in theology in 2015 at the Faculty of Catholic Theology, University of Zagreb, with a dissertation titled "David Tracy's Hermeneutical Turn". In 2024, he spent six months as a visiting research professor at the University of Graz's Research Center for Climate Law. He is the author of numerous academic and professional publications, as well as the editor of several collected volumes. He regularly participates in international conferences and research initiatives at the intersection of theology, society, and the environment. He led the university project CRO Laudato si' and is a Management Committee member of the COST Action Social Sciences and Humanities for Transformation and Climate Resilience (SHiFT), where he co-chairs a working group.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
His research focuses on ecotheology, the mimetic theory of René Girard, and public theology, mainly inspired by the thought of David Tracy. He explores how theology can engage with climate issues, social justice, and contemporary cultural narratives through dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration.
