Zlatan Car
Full Professor and Dean at the Faculty of Engineering, Catholic University of Croatia in Zagreb. He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Rijeka, and earned his PhD at Kobe University in Japan with a dissertation on adaptive reconfiguration of manufacturing systems. Previously, he held several leadership roles at the University of Rijeka, including Vice-Rector for Informatization, Head of the Center for Advanced Computing, and Head of the Department of Automation and Electronics.
Professor Car’s scientific work spans artificial intelligence, smart automation, high-performance computing (HPC), engineering simulations, and applications in medicine. He has led or collaborated on numerous national and international projects and is the recipient of several recognitions, including the 2024 Commendation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for his contribution to academic cooperation.
