Tomislav Belić
Senior Teaching and Research Assistant at the University Department of Sociology, Catholic University of Croatia in Zagreb. He obtained his bachelor's and doctoral degrees at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. In 2023, he defended his doctoral dissertation entitled Economic determinants of fertility rate variation across the European Union.
In 2016, he was awarded the Rector’s Award of the University of Zagreb for a team research project. He has been employed at the Catholic University of Croatia since 2017. Since the 2020/2021 academic year, he has also been an external associate at the Department of Demography and Croatian Diaspora, Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Spatial patterns of demographic change with a focus on fertility, the relationship between fertility and socio-economic development, population projections, and the potential for demographic revitalization.
