Suzana Bukovski
Full Professor at the School of Medicine and the Faculty of Health Studies, Catholic University of Croatia. She graduated from the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine, where she also completed her specialization in Microbiology and Parasitology. She has held the professional title of Primarius (Senior Consultant) since 2009. She obtained her Master’s and Doctoral degrees at the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine. Her master’s thesis was titled: “Comparison of Antibody Levels by In Vitro and In Vivo Methods in the Serum of Children Immunized with Different Amounts of Tetanus Toxoid.”Her doctoral dissertation was: “Investigation of the Immune Response in Middle-Aged and Elderly Individuals Following Tetanus Vaccination Using Two Different Vaccine Doses.”
She teaches in the Postgraduate Program in Microbiology and the Postgraduate Program in Infectious Diseases at the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine.
Since 2004, she has worked as a Clinical Microbiologist at the Dr. Fran Mihaljević University Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Zagreb.Previously, she worked at the Institute of Immunology, Zagreb, in the production of bacterial vaccines, and in the diagnostics of botulism, tetanus, syphilis, and mycoplasma infections. She has also taught at the School of Medicine and the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Osijek, as well as at the Forensic Science Program at the University of Split.

Invasive infections of the bloodstream and central nervous system, antibiotic resistance and multidrug-resistant microorganisms, hospital-acquired infections: control and prevention, rapid diagnostics of infectious diseases, nternal and external quality control in microbiology laboratories, zoonoses, vaccination and prevention of infectious diseases, bioterrorism
