Momir Futo
Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine of the Catholic University of Croatia. He graduated in 2002 from the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, University of Zagreb as a biology teacher. As a DAAD scholarship holder, he earned his PhD in evolutionary biology in 2016 at the Institute for Evolution and Biodiversity, University of Münster, Germany, defending a dissertation titled “The role of microbes as mediators of immune memory in insects” with magna cum laude honours.
Before employment at Catholic University of Croatia, he worked as a researcher at the Department of Applied Computing, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, and as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Molecular Biology, Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb, where he collaborated on the HRZZ project "Phylostratigraphy of gene gain and loss" and was employed as a doctoral student at the Institute for Evolution and Biodiversity, University of Münster.
