Mirjana Turkalj
Prof. Mirjana Turkalj, MD, PhD, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine University of Zagreb. Since 1998 she has been a pediatric specialist, and from 2005 a subspecialist in allergology and clinical immunology, and pediatric pulmonology since 2013. She has been a full professor at the Catholic University of Croatia since 2019, at the Nursing Studies and Faculty of Medicine. She works as a pediatric subspecialist at Srebrnjak Children’s Hospital in Zagreb, where she was Deputy Director from 2010-2019. since 2024. as the Head of Reference Centre of Clinical Allergology of the Croatian Ministry of Health, and Head of the Department. Mirjana Turkalj is a professor and lecturer at the Medical Scool and Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health, University of Osijek, Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb, and others, as wll. She is the manager of several scientific research projects financed by EU funds. She has written more than 240 scientific and professional papers and 30 book chapters, with around 2000 citations.
SCIENTIFIC-RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Immunological mechanisms of asthma and allergic diseases, pathomechanisms of allergen immunotherapy, food allergy and food immunotherapy, the effect of environmental factors on the occurrence and development of allergic diseases
