Matea Bodrožić Selak
Assistant at the University Department of Psychology, Catholic University of Croatia in Zagreb. She obtained her Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Zadar in 2020 and earned her PhD at the postgraduate doctoral program Prevention Science and Disability Studies (module Prevention Science) at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb. Her doctoral dissertation is titled Examining the Effects of Technology Interference on the Characteristics of Father–Child Interaction.
Before joining the University, she worked at the Juraj Bonači Center for Education in Split with children with special needs and behavioral difficulties. She has collaborated on several scientific research projects and participated in national and international conferences, including ECDP, EARA, and ISPCAN. She is a co-author of the Analysis of the Situation of Children and Youth in Croatia (2021–2023) and several scientific papers.
She is currently undergoing training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy at the Croatian Association for Behavioral-Cognitive Therapies (HUBIKOT), where she has completed the first level of training. She is a member of the European Association of Developmental Psychology (EADP) and the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN).
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Her scientific and research interests are the fields of developmental psychology and prevention science, focusing on determinants of parenting, particularly the effects of digital technology use—especially smartphones—on the development and well-being of children and adolescents within the family context.
