Marijana Kompes
Associate Professor at the University Department of Theology and the Faculty of Law (Catholic University of Croatia). Holds Master’s degrees in Theology (University of Zagreb) and Political Science (University of Vienna). Earned a PhD in Social Ethics (University of Vienna), specializing in human rights.
Former Research Associate at the Center for the Promotion of the Social Doctrine of the Church (Croatian Bishop's Conference), held prae- and post-doctoral assistant positions, and served as Deputy Head of the Department of Social Ethics (University of Vienna). Twice awarded best student at the Catholic Faculty of Theology, University of Zagreb.
Completed professional development programs at the Catholic University of Leuven, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, and the University of Graz. Member of the Governing Boards of the Center for the Promotion of the Social Doctrine of the Church (Zagreb) and the Network of Social Ethicists in Central Europe (University of Vienna). Member of the Economy of Francesco.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Solidarity, the Common Good, Solidarity and Economic Ethics, the Economy of Francesco and Fraternity, Human Rights, Women's Roles, and Transformations in Social Values.
