Marija Sertić

Marija Sertić graduated with a degree in philosophical-theological studies from the Catholic Faculty of Theology at the University of Zagreb in 2009. During her studies, she received several faculty awards, most notably the Grand Chancellor’s Award for the most successful graduate, with a final grade of excellent (4.98), as well as the Top Scholarship (2007). She continued her postgraduate studies at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium where she completed two master’s degrees (2012, 2013) at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies. In 2017, she earned her PhD in theological ethics, defending a dissertation entitled: Care-Full Education: A Character and a Care Approach to Moral Education as a Response to the Reductionist Trends in Education. She participated in two international academic exchange programmes: during the summer semester of the 2007/2008 academic year at Karl-Franzens-Universität in Graz, and in the 2016/2017 academic year at the University of Vienna. Since 2019, she has been employed at the Catholic University of Croatia, initially as a postdoctoral fellow, and from 2024 as an assistant professor.
