Luka Šešo

Full Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Croatia, where he also worked at the Department of Sociology (2012–2024). Previously, he was employed at the Institute of Ethnology of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (2002–2012) and the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research. He earned his degree in ethnology and history, his master’s in history, and his PhD in ethnology and cultural anthropology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. 

He conducted academic training at the Nanovic Institute for European Studies, University of Notre Dame, USA (2015). He has published around thirty scholarly papers in national and international journals and edited volumes. He is the author of two scholarly monographs and two edited volumes on traditional beliefs and historical anthropology. He has held numerous lectures in Croatia and abroad. In 2023, he received a teaching excellence award from the Catholic University of Croatia and two “Milovan Gavazzi” awards from the Croatian Ethnological Society (2010, 2023).
