Lidija Dežmalj Grbelja

She graduated in 1997 of the School of Medicine at the University of Rijeka. In 2005, she passed a specialist examination in neurology. In 2018, she defended her doctoral dissertation at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, titled “Analysis of the Blink Reflex in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis.” Since 2018, she has been a teacher at the School of Medicine University of Zagreb in the course Fundamentals of Medical Skills. 

Since 2024, she has been an assistant professor at the School of Medicine of the Catholic University of Croatia, participating in the courses Neurology and Neurosurgery and Special Propaedeutics. She is the coordinator for elective course Neurology for Those Who Want to Know More. She was a member of the Quality Committee from 2024 to 2025, and since 2025 she has been a member of the Postgraduate Education Committee. 

She has been employed at the Department of Neurology, Sisters of Mercy University Hospital Center in Zagreb since 2001. Since 2025, she has been the second vice president of the Croatian Neurological Society.
