Josipa Josipović
Asst.Prof. Josipa Josipović graduated from the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb in 2004, and in 2020, she defended her doctoral thesis on the role of uromodulin in the regulation of circadian blood pressure patterns. She has been a specialist in internal medicine since 2010 and a subspecialist in nephrology since 2015. Since 2024, she has been the Head of the Division of Nephrology and Arterial Hypertension at the University Hospital Centre Sestre milosrdnice. Since 2022, she has also been employed as an Assist. Professor at the School of Medicine, Catholic University of Croatia, where she is a member of the Teaching Board.
Her scientific and professional work focuses on prehypertension, arterial hypertension, chronic kidney disease, public health aspects of cardiorenal-metabolic risk, nephrolithiasis and the epidemiology of salt intake. She has participated in numerous national and international research projects and is a co-author of several professional monographs and university textbooks. She has authored and co-authored more than 40 scientific and professional papers indexed in international databases and has presented at numerous domestic and international conferences, including meetings of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) and the International Society for Vascular Health and Aging (ISVH).
She holds the title of Clinical Hypertension Specialist from the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) and is actively involved in various professional societies, including as a member of the Program Board of the Croatian Hypertension League, treasurer of the Croatian Society for Hypertension, and a member of the Executive Boards of the Croatian Renal Association and the Croatian Society for Healthy Vascular Aging. She regularly participates in the education of students and healthcare professionals and promotes public health through projects such as "Epidemiology of Hypertension and Salt Intake in Croatia", "Cardiorenal-Metabolic Risk in Rural Populations", "Hunting the Silent Killer", and others.
