Ivo Darko Gabrić

Dr. Ivo Darko Gabrić is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Catholic University of Croatia in Zagreb. He is a member of the Faculty Council, the Committee for Teaching and Students, and the Head of the 3rd year of studies. He is permanently employed at the Department for Cardiovascular Disesases in University Hospital Center Sisters of Charity, Zagreb, where he is Head of the Cardiology Outpatient Clinic. His clinical work is focused on clinical and interventional cardiology, as well as echocardiography. He was the organizer and chair of the symposium Cardio-oncology Today, the first Croatian symposium dedicated to the field of cardio-oncology.

Dr. Gabrić earned his medical degree from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine in 1997. He completed his specialization in Internal Medicine in 2005 and subspecialization in Cardiology in 2008. He obtained a master’s degree in 2010 and a PhD in 2012 from the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. His doctoral dissertation was entitled: The Influence of ACE Gene Polymorphism on Cardiotoxicity Caused by Immunotherapy with the Monoclonal Antibody Trastuzumab. In 2016, he was awarded the honorary title Primarius by the Ministry of Health.

SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH INTERESTS:

His primary research interests include cardio-oncology, coronary and valvular heart diseases, cardiomyopathies, heart failure, and heart transplantation
