Ivana Vrselja
Ivana Vrselja is an associate professor at the Catholic University of Croatia. In 2007, she completed her studies in psychology at the Faculty of Croatian Studies at the University of Zagreb. In 2013, she completed her doctorate at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb. From 2007 to 2014, she worked at the Ivo Pilar Institute for Social Sciences, after which she moved to the Catholic University of Croatia. Between 2014 and 2017 she was deputy head of the Department of Psychology. She actively participates in numerous national and international research projects in the field of social psychology. She is the author of the university textbook Social Influence and has published numerous publications in national and international journals. She contributes to the academic community by serving on university committees, review boards and as a peer reviewer. In 2023, she was awarded the Achievement Award of the Catholic University of Croatia. She is on the editorial board of an international journal and is a member of several national and international associations, most notably the European Association of Social Psychology.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
During her long career as a social psychologist, she has actively researched socially relevant and impactful issues. Recently, her focus has shifted to the social psychological aspects of climate change and pro-environmental behavior.

PROJECTS:
She has worked on 21 research projects, including the following in the last five years:
- The role of social influence in reactions to experienced earthquakes and preparation for future ones, (2021–2022). Funded by HEP d.d. Project leader: Ivana Vrselja.
- Social-psychological determinants of climate change risk perception and the possibilities for its amplification (2023). Funded by the Catholic University of Croatia. Project leader: Ivana Vrselja.
- PSA-JTF2 Dignity Honor Face (2024– ). Funded by Psychological Science Accelerator, supported by the John Templeton Foundation, Einstein Foundation, and Leibniz Institute for Psychology. Project leader: Dr. Priya Silverstein.
