Ivana Bičanić
She was born and raised in Sisak, Croatia where she finished Primary and Secondary school. Graduated from the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb in 2009 where she also defended her PhD thesis in 2017 (Morphological changes of the striatal projection neurons in mice with humanized gene Foxp2). Since 2018 she has been enrolled in the International program for gestalt psychotherapy at the IGW centre Zagreb. In 2023 she received a scholarship from the CROMed- USA foundation for the postgraduate course Principles of Medical Education: Maximizing Your Teaching Skills at Harvard Medical School.
In 2024 she finished a postgraduate study in Management in Healthcare at the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine. She was an Assistant Professor of Human Anatomy and Clinical Anatomy at the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine until February 2024 when she was employed by the School of Medicine of the Catholic University of Croatia. Now she is the course coordinator of an integrated course: Trunk and Viscera where she teaches human anatomy. Besides teaching she is also involved in the student psychological counselling team and participates in the activities of the University’s International cooperation department.
