Irena Sever Globan

Associate Professor at the Catholic University of Croatia in Zagreb. She holds a master degree in Theology from the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Zagreb and earned both her master degree and doctorate in Communication Studies at the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome, where she defended her dissertation in 2010 entitled The Metaphorical Representation of Jesus Christ in Film: Female Christ-figures. 

In addition to teaching at the Catholic University of Croatia, she has taught communication courses at the Department of Culturology, J.J. Strossmayer University in Osijek; the Department of Communication at the University of Dubrovnik; and the Department of Communication at the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb.

She has completed studies in Viktor Frankl’s Logotherapy and is currently undergoing international certification to become a trainer of Nonviolent Communication based on the model of Marshall Rosenberg.

She is currently the Vice President of the Croatian Section of the European Society of Women in Theological Research.
